    Carol J. Amato Receives Award of Excellence 

Carol J. Amato, author, editor, and educator, received the Faculty Award of Excellence on March 10th from the University of Phoenix, Southern California Campus. The award is given for going above and beyond and was presented at a faculty mixer at the San Bernardino Learning Center in San Bernardino, California.

Ms. Amato has been an adjunct faculty member at the Southern California Campus since 1993. She was the Area Chair for Assessment of Prior Learning for five years and a Master Teacher. Prior to teaching at the SoCal Campus, she taught at the San Diego Campus for three years, and she has taught at the Online Campus since 1999. She held the position of Area Chair of Communications for two years at both campuses.

Ms. Amato teaches General Studies, Communications, Writing, and Management courses. She also tutors students in writing and formatting research papers.

Ms. Amato is a small business writing coach and mentor. 
She is the author of 22 books, including The World’s Easiest Guide to Using the APA, 4th edition, and The World’s Easiest Guide to Using the MLA. She has also published 175 articles and has edited books for major publishers. She has applied her Master’s degree in Cultural Anthropology to her middle-grade mystery series, The Phantom Hunters. In this series, each book takes place in a different culture.
