Forerunner COMING 2025
Be careful what you wish for....
For years, environmental anthropologist Lisa Hammond dreams of going into space. That dream turns sour when a computer malfunction transports her and her neighbor, Chris Williams, onto Aridana, a spaceship of human scientists back in time from the 25th century.
The Aridani tell her that history shows she and Chris disappeared permanently from Earth that day and sending them back will alter the timeline. The time travelers return to the future, taking Lisa and Chris with them.
Refusing to accept that her son, husband, and life as she knew it are lost to her forever, Lisa conceives a plan to escape without jeopardizing the timeline. She knows her chance will come on the Aridani's next time trip to Earth. She strives to convince her captors that she has adapted to their strange culture and urges Chris to do the same so that the Aridani will let them accompany them to the past. It is the only route to escape.
Benei, a Navajo astronomer and the only other person from Earth aboard, befriends her, which complicates her plan. Escape becomes even more difficult as Sig, a psychiatrist who helps her through the trauma, and Naya, one of the time scientists, also become close to her.
But Lisa soon suspects that the Aridani are harboring secrets. What are their real motives for keeping her and Chris aboard? Will those secrets prevent them from returning home?
